"Jason & Marie-Laure have been perfect hosts. Available & informative, but above all, discreet. We can agree with the previous comments, in three weeks we hardly found time to go anywhere, the view & peaceful ambience is all one needs. When we did venture out, the places that most impressed us were Niort (really great markets, easy parking, shops, loads of restaurants), Cognac & Parthenay. The Marais Poitevin is well worth a visit. The highlight though was possibly La Rochelle. We think that Jason & Marie-Laure have done a great job of the restoration, we wish them "Bonne Chance" for the future of their enterprise." Rob.

"Having a super time, wonderful place, wonderful hosts. Wildlife observed to date...
Coypu - 7
Lizard inside - 1 (fell through skylight), outside - 4
Ducks - 11 in a single sighting
Squirrels - 4
Fish inside (kitchen water chute) - 2, outside - millions !
Hedgehog - 1
Moorhens - 4 (although may have seen 1 twice !)
Cows - 3
Dogs - 3 (unknown source)
Cat - 1 ("Roxy")
Ants - army on the move
Drgonflies & Butterflies - copious amounts
Kids - 2
Lions, tigers & elephants - none
Grandma - 1 (not wildlife - very nice lady)
 
Seriously though, thanks to Jason & Marie-Laure, made to feel very welcome, holiday has been great." Vicky.
